TRANSPARENT ... SPONSORSHIP IS IMPORTANT!
Jan’s decision for 2019 is not to hide his content supporters and sponsors but to include them clearly into the content he produces. He is strongly inspired by some Youtubers witch decided to make it transparent and clear, that some companies support their creation of content.
This is the only right way to do it. It must be quite clear to users that quality content isn’t produced for free, but is always paid by some interest or third party. In some way, vlogging is just a TV business on a different platform.
There are rules about who can sponsor a certain content pillar. For example, a smartphone brand cannot sponsor the “Jan on Tech” content pillar but can stand behind lifestyle vlogs “Jan in the City” or specials Men’s Fridays. Of course, the “smartphone” brand gets a priority editorial reviews included in the package and featured in »Jan on Tech«. But they are just editorial review with no possibility to influence the vlog content. A sponsorship simply buys a quantity of attention of the vlogger. Not an opinion about the product.
This kind of brand collaborations is becoming more and more an industry standard as the vlogging and YouTubers scene progresses towards some legal limitation of so-called product placements and content advertising. So this will be the way how Youtube or other video content is going to be monetized. Especially in Slovenia because of the limitations set by a really narrow language group (. million) and quantity of users which isn't sufficient for monetizing vlog content through ads or affiliate programs.

Instastory video: 4 posts for 15 seconds with branding max 4 - 5 seconds (teaser swipe-up stories).
INSTAGRAM MICRO VLOG
Instagram video post: 1-minute video published on Instagram with branding max 4 - 5 seconds (teaser micro vlog).
On all social networks including Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, and others.
